काली महाकाली कालिके परमेश्वरी ।
सर्वानन्दकरी देवी नारायणि नमोऽस्तुते ।।
Gāyatrī Mantra is dedicated to Savitr, a Vedic Sun deity.

ॐ भूर्भुवः स्वः । om bhūr bhuvaḥ svaḥ
तत्स॑वि॒तुर्वरेण्यं॒ ॥ tát savitúr váreṇ(i)yaṃ
भर्गो॑ दे॒वस्य॑ धीमहि । bhárgo devásya dhīmahi
धियो॒ यो नः॑ प्रचो॒दया॑त् ॥ dhíyo yó naḥ prachodayāt
– Rigveda 3.62.10
Longer Version:
“OM BHUR, OM BHUVAHA, OM SWAHA, OM MAHAHA,
OM JANAHA, OM TAPAHA, OM SATYAM OM TAT
SAVITUR VARENYAM BHARGO DEVASYA DHEEMAHI
DHIYO YONAHA PRACHODAYAT”
Meaning:
We meditate on the glory of the Creator;
Who has created the Universe;
Who is worthy of Worship;
Who is the embodiment of Knowledge and Light;
Who is the remover of Sin and Ignorance;
May He open our hearts and enlighten our Intellect.
